Color mixing project based on Paul Klee art piece "Mount Niesen – Egyptian Night" (1915)
Learning Goals:
Students will be able to create new colors from their originally chosen three colors.
Students will create their own Paul Klee inspired piece.
Supplies needed:
-watercolor paper
-brushes
-watercolor paints
-pencils
-sharpies
Process:
Draw a line through center of watercolor paper.
Draw three mountains/pyramids (triangles) at the top half of the paper
Draw vertical and horizontal lines on the bottom half to create boxes or squares.
Use watercolors to paint the three mountains. Students must select three colors to mix.
ONLY use those three watercolors to paint the lower boxes.
Assessment:
Students have chosen three colors.
Students have filled in every box/square in the bottom half.
