Pokemon Energies

Overview

Students created Pokemon Energy Cards. Students studied the different types of energies; mechanical, electric, light, thermal and sound. Students combined energies with pokemon characters and created their own cards.

Goals for students:

1. Standard 4.V.R.2: Analyze components in visual imagery that convey messages. Experiment with various materials and tools to explore personal interests in a work of art or design.

Learning Goals

1. Students will experiment with drawing animal character shapes

2. Students will use design knowledge to create pokemon characters

Activities

DAY 1

• Intro to scientific energies; Mechanical, Electric, Light, Thermal, Sound.

• Students begin writing down which energies they’d like to use for their pokemon characters

DAY 2- drawing pokemon day

• Students work on finishing their pokemon sketches

• After finishing sketches, students begin to draw pokemon onto cardstock papers

• Students write information about each pokemon character and their energies

DAY 3-

• Continue working on Pokemon cards

• Add color, outlining and information

• Laminate cards to create a real card look
