Supplies:

  • pencils

  • glue

  • markers to outline or color in

Day 1:

Students spend time doing a guided drawing of a portrait. Begin with an oval for the face, circles for eyes, etc. During this guided drawing, talk with students about where our features are on our faces. Students can learn where features are and should point to their ears, eyes, hair, etc. Students should go slowly and follow instruction during the guided drawing.

Day 2:

Students will use small square papers, or cut small colorful papers to glue around the border of their portrait. This can be optional or included in the project.
